Angels 4, Blue Jays 3: Garrett Richards worked 6 2/3 solid innings and Kole Calhoun continued his hot hitting with a solo homer as visiting Los Angeles completed a three-game sweep.
Richards (7-6) allowed three runs on nine hits en route to his third straight victory. Calhoun finished 2-for-3 with a walk while Erick Aybar added a pair of hits and scored twice.
Blue Jays left-hander J.A. Happ (4-6) was tagged for four runs on six hits over 4 1/3 innings. Jose Reyes led the Toronto offense with four hits, including a homer, while Moises Sierra posted his second straight three-hit performance.
With the Angels leading 2-1 in the third inning, Reyes belted a solo homer to right and Sierra put Toronto ahead with a run-scoring double. Calhoun evened things in the fourth with a solo shot into the seats in right-center, and Mike Trout's ground-rule double in the fifth scored Aybar to make it 4-3.
The Los Angeles bullpen took care of the rest, limiting Toronto to two hits over the final 2 2/3 innings. Michael Kohn recorded the final out of the seventh, Dane De La Rosa worked around Sierra's double in the eighth and Ernesto Frieri stranded a pair in the ninth to record his 33rd save.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Calhoun has RBIs in 15 of the last 16 games in which he has started. ... The Angels won the season series 5-1. ... Sierra has eight hits over his last three games, raising his average 88 points to .322.
