Marlins 3, Phillies 2: Adeiny Hechavarria knocked in three runs, including the go-ahead tally in the eighth inning on a fielder’s choice, as Miami took two of three from visiting Philadelphia.

Justin Ruggiano walked, moved to third on Placido Polanco’s third hit and scored ahead of the throw after Hechavarria's grounder up the middle. Chad Qualls (5-2) retired one batter in the eighth for the win before Steve Cishek pitched the ninth for his 33rd save and set a club record with his 28th straight.

Freddy Galvis recorded three hits and an RBI while Chase Utley and Domonic Brown added two singles apiece for the Phillies, who had been unbeaten in the last eight series against Miami. Ethan Martin (2-5) gave up one run on a hit and two walks for Philadelphia, which won the season series 12-7.

Ruggiano walked and Polanco reached on an infield single in the second inning before both scored on Hechavarria’s triple over the head of center fielder Cesar Hernandez. Darin Ruf ignited a two-run rally in the seventh with a one-out double before Galvis and Hernandez each registered RBI singles to tie the game for the Phillies.

Miami’s Brad Hand shut the Phillies out on four hits over the first six innings before giving up two runs and three hits in the seventh. Philadelphia starter Cole Hamels yielded two runs on five hits over six innings with six strikeouts, leaving him stuck on 99 career victories.
