Athletics 4, Rays 3 (15): Jemile Weeks lifted a sacrifice fly in the 15th inning as host Oakland recorded its major-league leading 12th walk-off victory of the season.
Brandon Inge led off the 15th against Kyle Farnsworth (0-3) with a single and was sacrificed to second by Kurt Suzuki. After a pair of walks - one intentional - loaded the bases, Weeks hit Farnsworth's first pitch to center fielder B.J. Upton, who was unable to throw out Inge at the plate.
Yoenis Cespedes collected three hits and Brandon Hicks homered for the Athletics, who opened their 10-game homestand with their 19th win in 23 overall contests this month to move 3 1/2 games behind the first-place Texas Rangers in the American League West.
Jordan Norberto (3-1) worked around a hit and a walk in the top of the 15th to notch the win in a five-hour, nine-minute marathon.
Oakland grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Chris Carter and Suzuki each delivered an RBI double. Carlos Pena forged a tie with a two-run double in the fourth and Tampa Bay moved ahead two frames later when Matt Joyce belted a high fastball from A.J. Griffin over the wall in right field for his 12th homer.
Hicks knotted the contest with two outs in the seventh with an opposite-field blast off David Price. Three of Hicks' 11 hits this season have been home runs.
Price recorded 11 of his team's record 21 strikeouts, which also is a new club mark for Oakland.
Pena and Ben Zobrist had two hits apiece for the Rays, who are 4-3 on their nine-game road trip.
