Athletics 5, Yankees 4 (12): Coco Crisp sent a single into right field in the bottom of the 12th inning and Derek Norris raced home from second base as host Oakland walked off with the win and completed a four-game sweep of New York.

Seth Smith tied it with a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth and Jerry Blevins (3-0) pitched two hitless innings to earn the win in relief for the Athletics, who took each of the four games by a single run - two on walk-off hits.

Norris greeted right-hander Cody Eppley (0-2) with a one-out single and moved up on Jemile Weeks’ sacrifice. Crisp came up next and sent a single just over second baseman Robinson Cano and into right field to plate the winning run.

Rafael Soriano came on for the save in the ninth and tried to sneak a 3-1 slider past Smith with one out and the bases empty. Smith belted a towering fly to straightaway center, sending it over the wall for his 11th blast and a 4-4 tie.

It marked just the second blown save in 26 chances for Soriano.

After struggling against a trio of rookie pitchers during the first three games of the series, New York’s hitters looked more comfortable against veteran Bartolo Colon. The former Yankee right-hander ran into trouble during a three-run third, allowing four straight singles to lead off the frame and Alex Rodriguez’s one-out double off the left-center field wall.

Curtis Granderson hit his team-leading 26th home run in the fourth, turning on an 0-2 pitch and belting it deep into the right field stands for a 4-0 cushion.

The A’s began their comeback against CC Sabathia, grabbing two runs on solo homers by Brandon Inge and Kurt Suzuki in the fifth and cutting it to 4-3 on Inge’s RBI fielder’s choice in the sixth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: New York had never been swept in a four-game series by one run in each game. ...
