North Carolina State 69, Virginia Tech 53: Ralston Turner led with 18 points as the Wolfpack turned away the visiting Hokies to keep their spot on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

Trevor Lacey collected 14 points, six assists and five rebounds for North Carolina State (16-11, 7-7 Atlantic Coast Conference), which shot 52.1 percent from the field. Anthony Barber added 10 points as the Wolfpack secured back-to-back victories for the first time in ACC play.

Justin Bibbs scored 19 points off the bench as Virginia Tech (10-17, 2-12) dropped its third straight game. Adam Smith led the starters with 15 points as the Hokies remained winless on the road.

Virginia Tech managed two field goals in the first 10 minutes as N.C. State raced out to a 17-6 lead. The Wolfpack held a 15-point advantage with under five minutes left in the half before the Hokies got hot, draining three 3-pointers in an 11-2 run that cut the deficit to seven points at the break.

Ahmed Hill’s 3-pointer less than four minutes into the second half marked Virginia Tech’s 11th straight made field goal and pulled the Hokies within 39-36 before N.C. State re-established control. Turner and Caleb Martin each hit a pair of 3-pointers during a 21-6 spurt that pushed the lead to 19 points with under six minutes left as the Wolfpack put the game away.

GAME NOTEBOOK: N.C. State F Beejay Anya blocked three shots, giving him 11 in the last three games. … Virginia Tech entered as the worst rebounding team in the ACC and was beaten on the glass 28-23. … The Wolfpack have three straight games on the road beginning at North Carolina on Tuesday.
