St. John's 81, San Francisco 57: D'Angelo Harrison scored 18 points as the Red Storm dismantled the visiting Dons.

JaKarr Sampson registered 14 points on 7-of-11 shooting and Orlando Sanchez added 11 points, six rebounds and three blocks for the Red Storm (7-3). Chris Obekpa chipped in with six points, seven rebounds and four blocks and the sophomore stands three blocks shy of tying the school record.

Chris Adams, whose 75 career field goals includes 66 from 3-point range, hit three treys and scored 11 points for the Dons (6-5), who beat the Red Storm by 16 at home last season. Kruize Pinkins notched 12 points and six boards, Mark Tollefsen had 14 points and leading-scoring Cole Dickerson added only four points for San Francisco before fouling out with 12:24 remaining.

Neither team led by more than four points over the first eight minutes, but the Red Storm spurted away to a 22-14 lead at the midway point of the first half only to have the Dons crawl back to within two in the next three minutes. St. John's scored the next seven points, including a 3-pointer by Harrison, to lead 33-24 before going into halftime with a 12-point advantage.

The Red Storm opened the second half with a 11-3 run to go up by 20 and the Dons couldn't muster a response the rest of the way. Rysheed Jordan had 10 points and four assists for the Red Storm, who were 29-of-59 from the field.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Red Storm had six blocks and dominated the boards 22-8 in the first half. ... Dickerson picked up his third foul with 3:49 remaining in the first half and was assessed his fourth foul with 16:50 left. ... Robert Werdann holds the St. John's record with 188 blocks from 1989-92.
