St. John's 104, Fordham 58: Orlando Sanchez scored a career-high 19 points as the Red Storm used a red-hot shooting performance to rout the Rams at Madison Square Garden.

D'Angelo Harrison had 13 points and JaKarr Sampson added 12 as St. John's (6-2) hit 66.1 percent from the field. Sanchez tied his career best with eight boards as the Red Storm won the rebound battle 46-40.

Mandell Thomas led Fordham (4-3) with 15 points while Branden Frazier added 13. Travion Leonard chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds as the Rams grabbed 27 of their caroms off the offensive glass.

St. John's jumped out to a 7-0 lead before Fordham scored eight straight to stay in it. But the Red Storm then went on a tear, hitting 17 straight field goals at one point to score a season-high 52 points in the first half and take a 20-point halftime advantage.

There wasn't much change in the second half as St. John's continued to dominate, coming short of its school record of 76.2 percent shooting for a game. The Red Storm led by 48 with just over two minutes to play as 10 different players scored.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Sir'Dominic Pointer dished out a career-high 11 assists and had 12 points for the Red Storm. … Fordham's leading scorer, Jon Severe, shot 1-of-21 from the field and finished with nine points, well off his 23.2 average. … The Red Storm's 104 points beat their previous season-high scoring mark by 22 points.
