Trailing by five with 12:28 left, the Golden Eagles (14-4, 3-2 Big East) scored 13 unanswered points over the next five minutes — including seven in a span of 26 seconds — to seize a 49-41 advantage. The Panthers (11-7, 0-5) were 0-for-6 from the field with five turnovers during the drought.

Johnson-Odom finished with 18 points, including a pair of 3-pointers in the final 2:47 that kept the Panthers at arm's length down the stretch. Crowder added 15 points for Marquette, which beat Pittsburgh for the first time under head coach Buzz Williams.

Ashton Gibbs scored a career-high 29 points, including Pittsburgh's final eight points of the afternoon. The Panthers were playing without injured point guard Tray Woodall for the 10th time in the last 11 games.
