Dee Bost fed Wendell Lewis for the game-winning dunk with 3.4 seconds remaining to lift Mississippi State to a stunning 70-69 win over Tennessee on Saturday night in Knoxville, Tenn.
In a game that went back and forth the last five minutes, Tennessee (17-12, 7-7 SEC) took a 69-68 lead with 11 seconds remaining on a dunk by Tobias Harris off an out-of-bounds play.
But with no timeouts remaining, Mississippi State (15-13, 7-7 SEC) inbounded the ball to Bost, who dribbled up the court, spun into the lane and while off-balance, fed Lewis for the deciding slam.
Ravern Johnson, who had two big baskets in the final three minutes, led the Bulldogs with 20 points while Bost added 14 points and a season-high 10 assists. Kodi Augustus had his eighth double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
Scotty Hopson led Tennessee with 22 points, and Harris chipped in 16 and eight rebounds.
