Brady Morningstar scored 19 points to lead a balanced attack as No. 2 Kansas pulled away for an 86-66 win at host Nebraska Saturday afternoon.
The Jayhawks (22-1, 7-1 Big 12), who led from start to finish, were ahead by just six before putting together a 15-3 run that stretched the difference to 75-57 with 5:19 remaining. Morningstar and Marcus Morris each scored five points during the spurt.
Markieff and Marcus Morris scored 17 and 16 points, respectively, for Kansas, while Tyrel Reed added 14 points. The Jayhawks shot 55.6 percent (25 of 45) from the field and hit 13 of 24 (54.2 percent) from 3-point range.
Brandon Richardson led Nebraska (15-7, 3-5) with 16 points, while Lance Jeter added 10 and 10 assists.
