Jerai Grant had 20 points, seven rebounds and two blocks as Clemson won its first ACC road game, beating Georgia Tech 65-56 Saturday.
Demontez Stitt added 16 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals for Clemson (16-7, 5-4 ACC), which improved to 2-5 overall on the road, 1-4 in the league. Andre Young scored 14 for the Tigers, making 4 of 6 from 3-point range.
Iman Shumpert had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead Georgia Tech (10-12, 3-6), which lost its third straight.
Clemson made just two of its first nine shots and turned the ball over 10 times in the first 9:13 as the Yellow Jackets sped to a 17-5 lead. The Tigers quickly settled down and then took over as Grant scored 10 of his 12 first-half points during a 22-0 run. Clemson made 10 of its last 11 field-goal attempts.
Georgia Tech went without a point for 7:03 before closing within 33-25 at the half. The Yellow Jackets came back in the second half to tie the game 40-40 with 13:07 left, but Clemson responded with a 10-2 run capped by two dunks from Milton Jennings.
