North Carolina appears to be revving up entering ACC play. The Tar Heels overwhelmed St. Francis (PA.) 103-54 Saturday, behind a balanced and explosive offensive attack.
Eight Tar Heels scored in double figures, including all five starters. John Henson and Dexter Strickland each had a team-high 13 points.
The Tar Heels (10-4, 0-0 ACC) scored more than 100 points for the second time this season and ran their win streak to three games, as they prepare to open ACC play at Virginia Saturday.
St Francis (2-11, 0-2 Northeast) suffered its ninth straight loss, despite a game-high 18 points from Will Felder.The Red Flash return to conference play at Mount St. Mary's Friday.
North Carolina started the season ranked in the Top 10, but fell out of the polls with early losses to Minnesota, Vanderbilt and Illinois. Roy Williams' last defeat came against No. 25 Texas, but has since bounced back with three wins by an average margin of 32 points.
