It took some time, but Stanford was able to take control and defeat Yale 60-44 on Tuesday night at the Maples Pavilion.
Junior guard Jeremy Green led the Cardinal with 15 points, followed by 12 from Josh Owens.
The Cardinal (7-4) didn't seize control until midway through the second half. Green's 3-pointer basket capped a 11-0 run that saw the Cardinal turn a 37-36 deficit into a 48-37 advantage with 5:51 remaining.
Yale, which never trailed by more than four points in the first half and held a 27-26 halftime lead, was outscored 34-17 in the second half.
Austin Morgan's 15 points led the Bulldogs, who shot 13 for 41 (31 percent) from the field.
Stanford improved to 6-0 at Maples Pavilion, and will get ready for the beginning of Pac-10 Conference play with Sunday's home game against rival California. The Golden Bears, defending Pac-10 regular season champions, swept the series with the Cardinal last season for the first time since 1992-93.
The Bulldogs (5-6) host Lehigh on Friday.
