Providence stayed perfect at home while keeping Alabama winless on the road.
Marshon Brooks scored 33 points and the Friars racked up their ninth home victory of the season with an 82-70 triumph over the Crimson Tide in a non-conference matchup on Saturday.
Providence (10-2) is now 9-0 at the Dunkin Donuts Center this season, thanks to a big second half. The game was tied, 40-40, at the break before the Friars took control over the final 20 minutes.
Brooks has been Providence’s leader all season, and it was much the same Saturday. He improved on his 22-point average by shooting 9-of-18 from the field and taking advantage of his opportunities at the free-throw line, making 13-of-16.
Gerard Coleman was 8-of-12 from the field and was the only other Friar in double figures with 18 points.
Alabama (4-5) has not figured out a way to win away from Coleman Coliseum and has dropped two straight overall.
Tony Mitchell scored 20 points and JaMychal Green added 15 for the Crimson Tide, who shot just 2-of-15 from the arc.
