Steven Pledger scored 23 points and Cade Davis added 21 as O,klahoma cruised past Texas Southern, 82-52, on Thursday.
Nick Thompson chipped in nine rebounds along with four points and Cameron Clark finished with seven points while battling foul trouble for the Sooners (3-0), who hit 13-of-24 3-point attempts and outrebounded Texas Southern, 34-18
Davis knocked down four of his six 3-pointers and had 13 points before the break to guide Oklahoma to a 36-29 lead at the half. The Sooners had the edge up to 36-23 late in the first after Clark hit a 3-pointer. But Abdallah Boune drained one from beyond the arc for the Tigers at the end of the half to bring it back to single digits.
The second half proved to be even easier, as Oklahoma opened with a 20-4 burst to take a commanding lead and coasted from there. Davis scored eight points during the run and Pledger added five.
Kevin Galloway scored 19 points and added seven assists for the Tigers, who hit just 5-of-20 from long range and shot 33 percent (17-of-52) from the floor.
