Chandler Parsons led four Gators in double digits with 16 points, and No. 11 Florida opened the season with a 77-60 triumph over visiting North Carolina-Wilmington Friday night.
Alex Tyus added 13 points, and Erik Murphy and Kenny Boynton contributed 10 apiece for the Gators, who led by as many as 24 points with 6:39 remaining.
Chad Tomko led the Seahawks with 15 points, and Trevor Deloach chipped in 14.
With the game tied at 15 midway through the first half, Florida outscored the Seahawks 22-11 to build a 37-26 halftime advantage. Parsons netted 12 of his 16 points in the first half.
The game marked the debut coach Buzz Peterson for the Seahawks, who posted a 9-22 record a season ago.
