David Freese hit a two-out, two-run double in the seventh inning to provide the tying and go-ahead runs, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the visiting San Francisco Giants 5-3 on Wednesday night.

Freese drove a pitch from reliever Reyes Moronta (0-1) the opposite way off the wall in right-center, giving the Dodgers a 4-3 lead by bringing in Austin Barnes, who had doubled, and Enrique Hernandez, who had walked.

The Dodgers added a run in the eighth inning. Cody Bellinger singled with one out and came home when the next batter, Chris Taylor, doubled to right field.

Los Angeles reliever Caleb Ferguson needed six pitches to set down the Giants in order in the eighth.

Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen worked a perfect ninth, striking out one. He picked up his third save of the season and second in as many nights as the Dodgers won final two contests of the three-game series.

Scott Alexander (1-0) got the final two outs in the seventh to pick up the win. Los Angeles pitchers retired the final 14 San Francisco batters.

Dodgers starter Ross Stripling cruised through three scoreless innings on 27 pitches before giving up a leadoff home run to Steven Duggar in the fourth that cut Los Angeles' lead to 2-1. Brandon Belt socked a one-out, two-run homer to give the Giants a 3-2 lead later in the inning.

San Francisco squandered a chance to do more damage, leaving the bases loaded when starting pitcher Derek Holland flied out to end the fourth.

Stripling allowed three runs and six hits in 6 1/3 innings, striking out three and walking one.

Holland pitched five innings, giving up three hits and two first-inning runs. He walked four and struck out seven, including Dodgers third baseman Justin Turner three times. Turner had whiffed three times in a game only once since Sept. 18, 2016.

Hernandez led off the bottom of the first with a home run, his third of the season, and Bellinger's two-out infield single later in the inning drove in Freese for a 2-0 lead.

The Dodgers have homered in each of their seven games this year. They tied a major league record with 17 home runs over their first six games.
