Pedro Alvarez hit two home runs and Delwyn Young homered and drove in a career-high five runs as the Pittsburgh Pirates continued their offensive onslaught with a 15-3 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday.
Neil Walker had a pair of RBIs and four others had an RBI apiece as the Pirates have scored 26 runs in the last two games against the Brewers and have scored at least nine in four of their last five overall.
Alvarez has been a big reason why as the rookie third baseman - the No. 2 overall pick two years ago - has four homers in his last two games and seven for the season. Young had a three-run homer as part of Pittsburgh's six-run fourth inning and leadoff man Jose Tabata scored three times.
Most of the damage came off Brewers starter Randy Wolf (7-9), who was rocked for a season-high 12 runs in 5 2/3 innings. Wolf had allowed 13 runs through his last five starts combined.
Pittsburgh starter Zach Duke (4-9) gave up three runs - two earned - in six innings. His only real mistake was a solo homer to George Kottaras in the second inning.
