Monta Ellis had 18 points and Chandler Parsons hit three 3-pointers en route to 17 points for the Mavericks, who won their third straight despite Dirk Nowitzki sitting out to rest after Friday's win against Toronto. Devin Harris added 15 points for Dallas, which posted the largest victory margin in franchise history in a 123-70 win over Philadelphia on Nov. 13.
Michael Carter-Williams had 18 points, a career-high 16 assists and 10 rebounds for the 76ers, who are just two losses shy of the NBA record to begin a season set by the 2009-10 New Jersey Nets. Rookie K.J. McDaniels scored a season-high 21 points and added 13 rebounds - nine on the offensive glass.
Parsons closed the third quarter with a 3-pointer that gave Dallas a 90-86 lead and the Mavericks held the Sixers scoreless for the first 3 1/2 minutes of the fourth, restoring a 96-86 edge on a jumper and drive by Harris. Philadelphia got within four on a 3-pointer from McDaniels, but Ellis converted a drive and a jumper to slow down the Sixers and Parsons and Richard Jefferson knocked down 3-pointers for an insurmountable 108-96 lead with 1:44 to play.
Dallas got 11 points apiece from Parsons and seldom-used Charlie Villanueva in the first half and led by as many as 10 points before taking a 58-51 lead into the half. The Mavericks pushed the edge to 10 again early in the third, but the Sixers simply outhustled Dallas the rest of the quarter, getting seven points from Alexey Shved and taking a one-point lead late in the period.
