Alex DeBrincat scored the winning goal 35 seconds into overtime as the host Chicago Blackhawks completed a comeback to claim a 3-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday night.

Kevin Lankinen made 29 saves for the Blackhawks, who earned an OT victory for the third time in their last four games overall.

On a two-on-two rush, Patrick Kane -- who finished with two assists -- fed a saucer pass that DeBrincat had bounce up off his stick before he batted it into the net for his eighth goal of the season.

It was the first time this season the Blackhawks won despite trailing after two periods, a comeback cued by Carl Soderberg.

With the visitors leading 2-1 and poised to win, Chicago's Philipp Kurashev poked the puck from Zach Werenski right to Soderberg in the high slot. Soderberg put a shot off the near post and in for his first goal of the season with 3:45 remaining in regulation.

Columbus' Patrik Laine, who was acquired early in the season via trade from the Winnipeg Jets, opened the scoring. While on a one-on-one rush, he ripped a top-corner wrist shot from the top of the right circle at the 6:39 mark. The goal was Laine's fourth in six games since joining Columbus.

Laine, who was benched a few games ago, undoubtedly endeared himself to his team and coach later in the period when he fought Chicago rookie Brandon Hagel, retribution for the way Hagel launched himself into Jack Roslovic. It was Laine's first career fight.

The hosts drew even when rookie defenseman Nicolas Beaudin scored his second goal in as many games 3:12 into the second period. Beaudin, whose first career goal came two nights earlier against the Blue Jackets, pinched from his point position for a rebound and buried the shot.

Cam Atkinson restored Columbus' lead with 5:13 remaining in the second period. Atkinson, who scored just once in his first 11 games this season, deflected Werenski's point shot to earn a goal in a third consecutive outing.

Joonas Korpisalo stopped 28 shots for the Blue Jackets.
