Ducks 2, Oilers 1: Captain Ryan Getzlaf snapped a tie in the third period as visiting Anaheim edged Edmonton.
Defenseman Francois Beauchemin also scored for the Pacific Division-leading Ducks, who improved to 3-0-0 in the four-game season series. Kyle Palmieri notched a pair of assists and John Gibson made 26 saves as Anaheim won for just the fifth time in 12 contests.
Teddy Purcell netted the lone goal for the Oilers, who completed a 1-2-0 homestand. Ben Scrivens turned aside 19 shots as Edmonton fell for the fourth time in five overall games.
Anaheim wasted little time silencing the crowd at Rexall Place, grabbing the lead just 45 seconds into the contest. Four seconds after Edmonton's Derek Roy was called for hooking, Beauchemin beat Scrivens with a blast from the right point after Palmieri got the puck back to him following a faceoff in the right circle.
The Oilers answered with a quick tally in the second period as Nail Yakupov made a backhand pass from the bottom of the right circle across the slot to Purcell, who fired the puck past Gibson at the 28-second mark. The Ducks regained the lead with 7:13 remaining in the third, when Getzlaf poked a loose puck into the crease and off the skate of Edmonton defenseman Justin Schultz after Scrivens stopped blue-liner Cam Fowler's blast from the left circle.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Beauchemin's goal was his 171st point with Anaheim, moving him ahead of Oleg Tverdovsky for sole possession of second place on the franchise list for defensemen. ... The Oilers scored a total of four goals on their homestand and one in the two losses. ... Yakupov's assist gave him eight points in his last eight games.
