Matt D'Agostini scored the game-winner at 8:49 of the third period and the St. Louis Blues rallied for a 4-3 victory over the visiting Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night.
D'Agostini wraparound beat Edmonton’s Devan Dubnyk and capped a three-goal third-period outburst as the Blues improved to 16-3-2 at home.
St. Louis netminder Jaroslav Halak turned aside 29 shots to remain undefeated in regulation (6-0-3) since Nov. 22.
David Backes had a goal and an assist and Chris Stewart and Alex Pietrangelo also tallied as the Blues moved to 17-5-5 under coach Ken Hitchcock.
The Oilers appeared to seize control by scoring three times in second period, including goals by Taylor Hall and Ben Eager 15 seconds apart.
Jordan Eberle's power-play goal at 13:54 of the period made it 3-1. It gave Eberle 43 points for the season, matching his team-leading total of 2010-11.
The Blues cut the deficit to one just 19 seconds into the third period on Pietrangelo's blast from the point, and Backes added another power-play tally only 1:29 late to forge a 3-3 tie.
Earlier in the day, the Oilers learned they would be without prize rookie Ryan Nugent-Hopkins for three to four weeks due to a shoulder injury
