Indiana led by as many as 23 points in the first half, going up 39-16 on a driving Durham layup. But Louisiana Tech cut into Indiana's lead for the remainder of the half. Archibald scored six straight points on a three-point play and 3-pointer to cut Indiana's lead to 43-27.
The Bulldogs got two more 3-pointers from guard Derric Jean and Crawford, cutting Indiana's lead to 47-33 and prompting Indiana coach Archie Miller to call a timeout.
Green then hit a 3-pointer over Louisiana Tech's zone defense to put the Hoosiers back up 50-33. After a Bracey 3-pointer, Indiana freshman forward Jerome Hunter was fouled on a drive with 3.1 seconds left and made a pair of free throws, putting the Hoosiers up 52-36 at halftime.
