Wisconsin 85, Oregon 77: Frank Kaminsky scored 19 points to lead five players in double figures and the Badgers rallied from a 12-point halftime deficit to edge the Ducks in the NCAA tournament West regional in Milwaukee.
Traevon Jackson collected 16 points and eight rebounds and Josh Gasser added 13 points for No. 2 seed Wisconsin (28-7), which closed the game on a 15-5 run and will face third-seeded Creighton or No. 6 seed Baylor on Thursday in Anaheim, Calif. Ben Brust scored 12 points on four 3-pointers to help the Badgers advance to the NCAA tournament Sweet 16 for the third time in the last four years.
Joseph Young led No. 7 seed Oregon (24-10) with 29 points, including four 3-pointers, and Jason Calliste made all 11 of his free throws and finished with 20 points off the bench. Mike Moser added 12 points for the Ducks, who lost despite shooting 49 percent from the field and 21-of-23 from the foul line.
Brust put the Badgers ahead 77-75 with 1:09 remaining when he set the school record with his 228th career made 3-pointer, and Wisconsin converted eight of its final 10 shots from the foul line to complete its comeback. Sam Dekker had 12 points and eight rebounds for Wisconsin, which controlled the boards in the final minutes and held a 14-3 edge in offensive rebounds.
Oregon outscored the Badgers 19-2 in fast break points in the first half and led 49-37 at the break, but Wisconsin slowed the pace after intermission and opened the second half on a 17-6 run. Dekker, who suffered a mouth injury just before halftime, sparked Wisconsin’s decisive run when he tied the game at 72 with just under four minutes remaining.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Wisconsin bench was issued a technical foul just before halftime after coach Bo Ryan complained about a non-call that resulted in Dekker’s injury. … Young shot 10-of-19 from the field and 4-of-7 from beyond the arc and moved into sixth place on the single-season scoring list at Oregon with 643 points. … The Badgers shot 11-of-28 from 3-point range but missed nine of their 25 shots from the foul line.
