Reeves Nelson and Lazeric Jones had 13 points apiece as UCLA recovered from a second-half collapse to upend host Oregon State 62-57 Thursday night.
Nelson hit six of eight shots for the Bruins (10-6, 2-2 Pac-10), who halted a two-game losing skid. The 6-foot-8 sophomore added a team-best seven rebounds, four on the offensive end, while Jones chipped in with three of UCLA's five steals.
Trailing by as many as 17 points after the break, the Beavers (7-9, 2-3 Pac-10) crafted a 21-4 run spanning nine minutes in the second half to pull even. Oregon State went ahead for the first time in the game on Roberto Nelson's 3-pointer with 2:48 remaining.
Jones put the Bruins back in front 59-57 on a jumper with 43 seconds left, and the Beavers whiffed on their final three possessions to fall just short.
Nelson had a team-high 13 points in a reserve role for Oregon State, losers of three in a row. He was the only player to reach double figures as the Beavers shot 20-for-62 from the field while making just three of 16 3-point attempts.
