Warriors 108, Grizzlies 82: Klay Thompson scored 30 points and Stephen Curry collected 22 points and 15 assists as visiting Golden State snapped an 11-game losing streak to Memphis.
David Lee added 23 points and 11 rebounds for the Warriors, who bounced back from a 22-point loss at Houston on Friday in the opener of a three-game road trip. Golden State won in Memphis for the first time since 2008.
Zach Randolph had 15 points as the Grizzlies fell for the sixth time in their last seven home games. Kosta Koufos added 10 points and 16 rebounds while Jon Leuer and Mike Miller combined for 31 points off the bench.
Thompson was hot from the start, knocking down 7-of-9 in the first quarter to get the Warriors off to a 29-19 lead after one. Thompson added a pair of assists in the period, including one on Andrew Bogut’s layup that capped a 13-0 run.
Curry found Draymond Green for a long jumper to spread it out to 35-19 early in the second before the Grizzlies made a move. Koufos’ offensive rebound and put-back chopped it to 47-43 but Golden State took a six-point lead into the half.
Curry hit back-to-back 3-pointers early in the third to stretch the lead back to double figures and capped an 8-0 run with a mid-range jumper later in the period as the Warriors grabbed a 69-53 cushion. Thompson’s 3-pointer closing the third made it 77-60 heading into the final stanza.
Golden State scored the first five points of the fourth quarter to open the lead to 22 points. Thompson and Curry were each fouled on 3-point attempts over the next few minutes and hit all six free throws as the Warriors put it away.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Grizzlies G Tony Allen (hip) missed his second straight game and G Quincy Pondexter left in the first half with a right foot sprain and did not return. … The Warriors snapped a nine-game losing streak in Memphis, winning on the Grizzlies’ home floor for the first time since Apr. 4, 2008. … Curry moved into first place in Golden State history with 701 made 3-pointers, passing Jason Richardson (700).
