Bobcats 114, Magic 108: Gerald Henderson scored 23 of his 34 points in the second half and was 12-of-18 from the field as host Charlotte sent Orlando to its eighth straight loss.
Kemba Walker also scored 34 points and had nine assists and seven rebounds for the Bobcats, who rallied from a 19-point first-quarter deficit to win for the third time in five games.
Tobias Harris scored a career-high 29 points and Kyle O’Quinn had a career-best 23 points to go with 11 rebounds for the Magic, who fell to 18-54. Orlando is just a half-game ahead of Charlotte (17-54), which possesses the worst record in the NBA.
The contest was tied at 106 when Charlotte’s Bismack Biyombo hit the go-ahead basket with 2:30 remaining. Henderson added a jumper with 1:31 left and Walker threaded an alley-oop that Josh McRoberts ferociously dunked home with 17.3 seconds left to boost the lead to six.
Orlando exploded for a 20-2 run during the first quarter and led 39-20 entering the second. But the Bobcats began the stanza with a 19-4 burst and trailed 58-51 at the break.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Orlando G Jameer Nelson had 13 points and 11 assists but was just 6-of-19 from the field. … Charlotte won the season series, 3-1. … Magic C Nikola Vucevic (concussion) missed his fourth consecutive game and F Andrew Nicholson (ankle) also sat out.
