Nuggets 116, Warriors 105: Danilo Gallinari scored eight of his 21 points in the fourth quarter and Ty Lawson added 20 as host Denver dominated the final period en route to its fifth straight win.
Wilson Chandler (hip) returned from a 30-game absence and chipped in 14 points off the bench while Corey Brewer scored 13 for the Nuggets, who outscored the Warriors 37-18 in the fourth quarter.
Stephen Curry went 7-of-9 from 3-point range and finished with 29 points to lead Golden State. David Lee collected 23 and 13 rebounds and Harrison Barnes scored 21 for the Warriors, who have dropped three of four.
Golden State was leading 89-83 after Jarrett Jack’s basket with 10:23 left but went over three minutes without a point while the Nuggets scored on nine straight possessions. Brewer scored six points and Kenneth Faried converted a three-point play during the 16-0 run that put Denver on top.
Lee finally stopped the bleeding with a dunk and Curry hit 3-pointers on back-to-back possessions to chop it back to 100-97 before Brewer answered with his own from beyond the arc. Gallinari scored five straight points to make it an 11-point cushion at 108-97.
The Warriors would get it down to single digits once more when Barnes hit a 3-pointer with four minutes to play but Curry had a pass stolen and then had a shot blocked as the Nuggets pushed it back out.
Curry went 5-of-6 from beyond the arc in the first half to help take a 54-52 lead into the break and Golden State would lead by as much as 10 points in the third quarter before settling for an 87-79 cushion to start the fourth.
GAME NOTEBOOK: The Warriors had not dropped as many as three of four since Nov. 5-10. … This marks the end of the regular-season series between the teams, with Denver taking three of four. … Golden State only went to the foul line eight times, connecting on six, while the Nuggets went 21-of-27 from the stripe. … The Warriors committed 18 turnovers, leading to 29 points.
