Brett Anderson pitched seven sharp innings and the host Milwaukee Brewers scored five times with two outs in the first inning en route to a 7-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday night.

The Brewers beat the Pirates for the 12th time in their past 15 home meetings thanks to Anderson's longest outing since signing with the team following the 2019 season.

Anderson (2-1) allowed an unearned run on six hits while constantly getting the Pirates to hit ground balls. The veteran left-hander struck out three, walked one and recorded 13 outs via ground balls thanks to an effective sinker he threw 55 times.

Jackie Bradley Jr. produced his best game of the season, doing so after Christian Yelich was placed on the injured list with a lower back strain.

Bradley singled twice, tripled, scored two runs and stole a base. It was his first multi-hit game since signing with Milwaukee as a free agent in the offseason.

The Brewers struck for five runs by getting five straight two-out singles off Pittsburgh right-hander Trevor Cahill (0-2).

Bradley scored the first on a single by Avisail Garcia and the Brewers took a 2-0 lead on a single by Billy McKinney.

The Brewers added two more when Omar Narvaez scored on a single by Luis Urias and McKinney scored on an error by center fielder Anthony Alford, who bobbled the ball.

Jace Peterson capped the inning with a single up the middle, and Milwaukee added two in the second.

Bradley tripled and scored on Keston Hiura's double off the center-field wall. Garcia made it 7-0 with a sacrifice fly.

Pittsburgh scored in the fourth when Bryan Reynolds scored on a fielding error by Urias at shortstop on a ground ball by Jacob Stallings. After the error, Anderson retired Erik Gonzalez on a double play to end the fourth.

Anderson got his second double play of the night by getting Alford in the fifth and then stranded two in the seventh by getting three straight flyouts.

Cahill allowed seven runs (six earned) on eight hits in four innings.
