Buddy Boeheim scored a career-high 22 points as Syracuse went wire-to-wire in a 97-46 victory over visiting Bucknell on Saturday afternoon.
The Orange (4-1) won their fourth straight game since opening the season with a 48-34 loss to Virginia and easily dominated the first meeting between the schools since 2011. Syracuse led by as many as 53 points, shot 56.1 percent and hit 48.3 percent from 3-point range.
The Orange also beat Bucknell for the 10th time in 11 all-time meetings and posted its most lopsided win in the series.
Boeheim eclipsed his previous career high of 20 points set against Pittsburgh in last season's ACC tournament while playing only 24 minutes. He shot 8 of 12 and 6 of 8 from 3-point range against the Bison, setting career bests for field goals and 3-pointers made.
Elijah Hughes added 21 points for Syracuse. He shot 7-of-12 from the floor and made 5 of 10 shots from behind the arc.
Freshman Joe Girard III added 12 points for the Orange, who also blocked 13 shots.
Bruce Moore scored a season-high 17 points for Bucknell (2-4), but little else went right as the Bison lost their third straight game. The Bison shot a woeful 26.3 percent from the field, missed 21 of 24 3-pointers and committed 23 turnovers.
Hughes scored 16 points as Syracuse shot 58.0 percent and coasted to a 51-26 lead by halftime. The Orange took their first double-digit lead when Boeheim's 3-pointer made it 19-7 with 13:59 left, and they seized their first 20-point advantage on a layup by Quincy Guerrier with 4:44 left that made it 40-19.
Syracuse took a 31-12 lead on a 3-pointer by Hughes with 10:08 remaining.
The Orange captured their first 20-point lead when Quincy Guerrier's layup made it 40-19 with 4:44 remaining. They opened a 40-point lead at 71-31 when Boeheim hit a 3-pointer with 14:39 remaining and that was part of a 22-3 run that spanned 5:32 and pushed the lead to 76-31.
