Toney McCray tied a career high with 18 points and Nebraska used a 15-5 run in the first 6:29 of the second half to pull away from Colorado for a 79-67 victory in a Big 12 Conference contest in Lincoln, Neb. on Tuesday night.

The win kept Nebraska (14-4, 2-2 Big 12) perfect in 13 home games this season, while Colorado (14-5, 3-1) had its seven-game winning streak snapped and also suffered its first league loss.

Nebraska, which led 31-30 at halftime, used the early spurt in the second half to extend its lead to 46-35. The Cornhuskers built the lead to 61-44 with 7:03 remaining before Colorado made a late run, but only got as close as eight the rest of the way.

Nebraska, which shot 57 percent from the field for the game, hit 64 percent (16 of 25) in the second half.

McCray, who also added eight rebounds, was joined in double figures by Jorge Brian Diaz, who scored 14 points on 7-of-8 shooting. Lance Jeter had 10 points and a season-high nine assists.

Alec Burks paced Colorado with a game-high 22 points while Levi Knutson, the top scoring sixth man in the Big 12, came off the bench to add 17, including five 3-pointers.
