JJ Redick's eighth 3-pointer was the decisive basket with 17 seconds remaining as the Philadelphia 76ers notched a 116-115 victory over the visiting Orlando Magic on Saturday night.

Joel Embiid recorded 32 points and grabbed 10 rebounds and Redick added 31 points as the 76ers won their second straight contest following a season-opening loss. Dario Saric added 13 points and nine rebounds and Robert Covington scored 12 points for Philadelphia, which tied a franchise record with 17 3-pointers.

Orlando's Evan Fournier made six 3-pointers and scored 31 points and Nikola Vucevic registered 27 points, 13 rebounds and a career-best 12 assists for his second career triple-double. Aaron Gordon added 20 points and 12 rebounds and Terrence Ross had 15 points off the bench for the Magic, who made 16 3-point baskets.

Philadelphia's Ben Simmons played just eight first-half minutes before departing with back tightness. He had four points and four assists.

Redick's eighth 3-pointer -- one shy of his career high -- gave the 76ers a 116-114 lead. Gordon split two free throws with 10.3 seconds left and a jump ball was called after a tie-up in the ensuing scramble.

Orlando won the tip and called timeout with 4.6 seconds left. Ross received the inbounds pass but airballed the 3-point attempt as the Magic lost their second straight after a season-opening win.

The 76ers opened up an 11-point lead with 5:02 left on three free throws by Redick -- one coming on a technical against Fournier -- before Orlando responded with seven straight points to creep within 108-104 on a 3-pointer by Ross with 3:45 left.

Philadelphia led by six before Fournier scored five straight points. Ross followed by chasing a deflected pass into the backcourt before swishing a midcourt 3-pointer to beat the shot-clock buzzer and give the Magic a 112-110 edge with 1:24 remaining.

Saric hit two free throws to tie it with 1:11 left.

Embiid had 21 first-half points as Philadelphia led 63-52 at the break.

Orlando got off to a hot start by scoring the first nine points and holding a 17-4 lead on Jonathan Isaac's 3-pointer just 4:10 into the contest. But Philadelphia dominated the final five minutes with a 26-10 surge to trail just 32-30 at the end of the quarter.

Embiid scored 10 straight points in the second quarter -- including two 3-pointers -- to give the 76ers a 52-39 advantage with 4:03 remaining.

Philadelphia held an 82-71 lead after Embiid's hoop with 4:16 left in the third quarter. Orlando recovered to move within 89-86 on Fournier's basket with 0.1 seconds left in the quarter.
