Warriors 112, Pelicans 96: Harrison Barnes poured in 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting as Golden State turned away visiting New Orleans to earn its 11th straight home win.
Stephen Curry went 4-of-17 from the field but finished with 16 points and 11 assists as the Warriors improved to 32-2 at home. Marreese Speights scored 13 points and Leandro Barbosa added 12 to pace the reserves for Golden State.
Alexis Ajinca and Quincy Pondexter scored 15 points apiece for the Pelicans, who were without Anthony Davis (ankle) and Omer Asik (calf). Norris Cole had 16 points off the bench and Jeff Withey collected season highs of 14 points and eight rebounds as New Orleans dropped two games behind the Oklahoma City Thunder in the race for the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference.
Barnes scored the final five points of the second quarter to send the Warriors into the break with a 53-42 lead and added Golden State’s first six points of the third quarter to spread the lead to 15. The Pelicans crept within 66-61 before Curry finally got hot and drained two 3-pointers in a 20-7 burst closing the third.
Speights scored the first four points of the fourth quarter to make it a 90-68 cushion and back-to-back baskets off turnovers put the Warriors in front by 25 with 9:06 to play. The lead reached 98-71 seconds later and Golden State kept the starters on the bench as it coasted to the finish.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Barnes, who put up a season-high 25 points against Atlanta on Wednesday, has reached 20 in back-to-back games for the first time since the 2013 playoffs and his first time ever in the regular season. … The Pelicans have lost 10 in a row against Golden State. … New Orleans F Dante Cunningham started in place of Davis and went scoreless on 0-of-4 shooting with four rebounds in 30 minutes.
