James’ driving layup cut the deficit to 90-87 with 44 seconds left but Anthony responded with a jumper and Jason Smith hit a pair of free throws to help seal it.
The Cavaliers led by as many as 11 points in the first half but 3-pointers by Shane Larkin and J.R. Smith knotted it at 38 with 2:47 left in the second quarter, and the Knicks grabbed a brief lead before Cleveland recovered to take a 44-42 edge into the break.
