Warriors 104, Pelicans 93: Stephen Curry collected 28 points and 12 assists and David Lee added 21 points and 17 rebounds as Golden State coasted past visiting New Orleans.
Klay Thompson added 16 points and Marreese Speights had 12 points off the bench as the Warriors clipped a two-game slide. Andre Iguodala returned after a 12-game absence due to a hamstring injury and scored two points in 17 minutes.
Ryan Anderson scored 21 points to lead the Pelicans, who dropped below .500 at 11-12. Jason Smith scored 12 points while Jrue Holiday and Austin Rivers added 11 apiece for New Orleans.
The Warriors had fallen behind by at least 10 points in each of the previous three games and five of seven but had no problems with slow starts against the Pelicans. Lee scored eight points in the first six minutes as Golden State raced out to a 16-6 lead and finished the first quarter up 26-19.
Curry’s 3-pointer midway through the second pushed the lead to 39-29, and his runner on the final possession of the half sent the Warriors into the break up 57-39. Thompson got going in the third quarter and drained his first 3-pointer to make it 67-49 just over three minutes into the stanza.
Back-to-back 3-pointers from Harrison Barnes and Curry stretched the gap to 81-56 with 5:07 remaining in the third. Curry already had his double-double locked up by the time Golden State closed out the third quarter with an 88-65 advantage.
New Orleans cut it back to 93-80 midway through the fourth against the Warriors reserves but Golden State called timeout and put the starters back in to stop the run. Curry fed Thompson for a jumper and added two free throws to push it back to 99-83 and the Warriors never let it dip to single digits.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Curry has recorded at least 20 points in 11 straight games - the longest active streak in the NBA. … Golden State C Andrew Bogut grabbed 10 rebounds to help the Warriors to a 58-44 advantage on the glass. … The Pelicans struggled to 37.5 percent from the field, including a 1-for-9 effort from G Eric Gordon.
