Rookie John Wall scored 16 of his 26 points in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead dunk with 14.8 seconds left, to lift the Washington Wizards to a 107-105 victory over the visiting Detroit Pistons on Tuesday night and their longest winning streak in almost three years.
Andray Blatche had 26 points and 10 rebounds and Wall contributed 12 assists, six rebounds and four steals to spark the Wizards (21-56) to their third straight win. They had not won three in a row since April 4-9, 2008.
The Pistons have lost 11 straight on the road and four in a row overall.
Detroit rookie center Greg Monroe scored 22 points and grabbed 14 rebounds but missed a pair of potential tying free throws with 10 seconds to play.
Will Bynum, Tayshaun Prince, Tracy McGrady and Austin Daye scored 14 points each for the Pistons (26-51), who have dropped seven of their last eight. Daye missed a 3-pointer at the buzzer.
Maurice Evans scored 20 points and Jordan Crawford added 17 for the Wizards, who got 97 of their 107 points from their starting five.
