LaMarcus Aldridge scored 36 points to lead the visiting Portland Trail Blazers to a 105-100 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Sunday.
Aldridge made 12 of 17 shots and was 12 of 13 from the free-throw line as Portland (30-24) won its fourth straight and for the 10th time in the last 14 games. He has topped 30 points in each of the last three games, scoring 115 total points during the stretch.
Ben Gordon scored 18 points and Tracy McGrady added 16 points for Detroit (20-35).
Wesley Matthews added 26 points and Andre Miller had 15 points and 12 assists for Portland.
The Trail Blazers made 29 of 30 free throws and took the lead for good when Miller hit two free throws with 1:06 left. Detroit’s Chris Wilcox had a chance to tie the score, but missed the second of two free throws with the Pistons trailing by one at 97-96.
Aldridge hit an 18-footer to make it a three-point game with 36.4 seconds left.
Austin Daye missed a 3-point attempt with 22 seconds left and Miller hit two more free throws just three seconds later for the Trail Blazers.
Will Bynum scored 15 points and Tayshaun Prince added 14 points for Detroit.
