Tracy McGrady, Austin Daye and Tayshaun Prince scored 20 points apiece as the Detroit Pistons broke out late in the first half and withstood a late run en route to a 103-96 victory Monday over the Orlando Magic, who had their eight-game home winning streak snapped.

McGrady, a two-time scoring champion for the Magic, added six rebounds and five assists as the Pistons won for the fifth time in seven games. Ben Gordon added 16 points as the Pistons recorded their fifth road win and first against a team with a winning record.

The oft-injured McGrady got the Pistons going with 14 points in the first quarter, most on drives to the basket, and the Pistons closed the first half on a 14-3 run to take a 56-46 lead into the locker room. Daye scored five during the spurt and Gordon and Prince four each.

The Pistons maintained that lead into the fourth quarter before Ryan Anderson and Quentin Richardson scored five points each in the first three minutes to cut Orlando's deficit to 79-75.

But a pair of 3-pointers by Daye - who hit the go-ahead jumper with 53 seconds left to beat Phoenix on Saturday - a tip-in by rookie Greg Monroe and another shot from the arc by Gordon over the next three minutes rebuilt the lead to 12.

The Magic got within five again with 4:20 left before Rodney Stuckey drained two free throws and Prince knocked down a desperation jumper as the shot clock wound down to settle the Pistons.

Dwight Howard had 20 points and 16 rebounds for Orlando, which shot just 7-of-27 from the arc and forced only five turnovers.
