Luis Scola collected 35 points and 12 rebounds and Kyle Lowry added 23 points and 12 assists to lead the host Houston Rockets to a 97-83 victory over the Detroit Pistons on Tuesday.
Kevin Martin chipped in 21 points and for the Rockets, who have won three of four this month.
Houston led 54-45 at halftime thanks in part to Detroit guard Richard Hamilton, who was given two technical fouls and ejected just before the break for arguing with officials. Martin, who was fouled on the play, drained all four free throws to stretch the lead.
Detroit made a run at the beginning of the fourth quarter, closing to 78-77 with 8:17 left. Houston responded with an 16-2 burst over the next four minutes to put it away. Scola scored eight points during the spurt and 10 in the fourth quarter.
Rodney Stuckey scored 18 points and Austin Daye had 12 off the bench for Detroit, which has lost five of six.
