The Cleveland Cavaliers set a team record with their 20th consecutive loss, 103-87 at Orlando on Sunday. The Cavs broke the record initially set over the final 19 games of the 1981-82 season.
Dwight Howard had 20 points and 20 rebounds, and the Magic scored 46 points in the paint, including 38 in the first half. They led the entire game and by as much as 22.
Ryan Anderson (23 points) and J.J. Redick (17 points) were played big roles off the bench, and Brandon Bass added 12 points and eight assists for the Magic.
Rookie Manny Harris was the only Cavs starter in double figures with 20 points, while rookie Samardo Samuels set a career high with 16. J.J. Hickson, dealt the task of handling Howard, was scoreless, but grabbed 11 rebounds.
The Cavs have lost 23 straight on the road, which is also a team record. They already own the NBA’s longest losing streak at 24 games, set over two seasons. The Cavs face LeBron James and the Heat on Monday night in Miami.
