Russell Westbrook had a season-high 31 points and 12 assists and Kevin Durant also scored 31 points as the host Oklahoma City Thunder held off the Philadelphia 76ers, 109-103, on Wednesday.
Serge Ibaka collected 12 points and seven rebounds and Thabo Sefolosha chipped in 10 points for the Thunder, who moved back above .500 at 4-3.
Oklahoma City went into the fourth quarter with an 85-74 edge and had held the Sixers at bay for most of the night. But Philadelphia picked it up, pulling as close as 97-94 on Jodie Meeks’ 3-pointer with 3:35 remaining.
The Thunder were too strong down the stretch, getting seven points from Westbrook and five from Durant in the final 3:15 to turn back the Sixers.
Jrue Holiday, who followed Westbrook as point guard at UCLA, led Philadelphia with 17 points and 11 assists. Meeks and Elton Brand added 17 points apiece for the Sixers (2-6).
