Mets 5, Dodgers 0: Ike Davis hit a three-run homer and Johan Santana pitched eight shutout innings as visiting New York beat Los Angeles for the third straight day.
Santana (6-4) allowed three hits and struck out three while improving to 5-0 against the Dodgers en route to sending Los Angeles to its season-worst seventh straight defeat.
Dee Gordon led off the first with a bloop single to right against Santana and the Dodgers didn’t get another hit until the eighth inning while being shut out for the fifth time in six games. Bobby Parnell worked a perfect ninth to wrap up New York’s fourth straight victory.
The Mets led 2-0 entering the sixth prior to Davis breaking the game open.
Andres Torres led off the inning with a single and was at third when David Wright was walked intentionally. Davis followed with his 11th homer of the season to finish the day of Dodgers starter Nathan Eovaldi (0-5).
New York plated runs in the second and fifth innings on sacrifice flies by Daniel Murphy and Josh Thole.
Eovaldi gave up five runs and seven hits in 5 1/3 innings.
