Marlins 5, Astros 3: Omar Infante’s two-run single in the top of the 12th inning lifted streaking Miami to its eighth victory in nine games.

Logan Morrison led off the decisive frame with a base hit against David Carpenter (0-2), moving to second on a walk to Giancarlo Stanton and taking third when Greg Dobbs reached on a fielder’s choice.

After a two-out walk to John Buck loaded the bases, Infante dropped a 0-2 pitch into shallow center field, plating Morrison and Dobbs to give the Marlins a two-run cushion.

Ryan Webb (2-1) got the win after recording the final out in the bottom of the 11th inning and retiring the Astros in order in the 12th.

Houston tied the game in the bottom of the ninth against new Miami closer Steve Cishek. A two-out single by Brian Bogusevic plated pinch runner Marwin Gonzalez to make it a 3-3 game after Carlos Lee’s one-out triple put the tying run on base.

After Chris Johnson put the Astros in front 2-1 with a second-inning solo homer, Buck and Jose Reyes delivered RBI singles in the top of the fourth inning as the Marlins turned a one-run deficit into a 3-2 lead.

Miami starter Josh Johnson limited Houston to two runs on four hits while matching his longest outing of the year. He struck out six and walked two.

Lucas Harrell pitched 5 1/3 innings for Houston, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits. He allowed three walks while striking out four.
