Senators 4, Panthers 2: Defenseman Joe Corvo recorded a goal and an assist as visiting Ottawa erased an early two-goal deficit.

Erik Condra, Colin Greening and Bobby Ryan also scored while Clarke MacArthur notched a pair of assists as the Senators won for only the third time in nine games. Craig Anderson made 30 saves and allowed fewer than four goals for the first time in his last five starts.

Jonathan Huberdeau and defenseman Brian Campbell scored first-period power-play goals for the Panthers, who have lost three games in a row and five of six (1-4-1). Tim Thomas made a season-high 41 saves in absorbing his third straight defeat.

Huberdeau put the Panthers on top during a 5-on-3 at 6:44, shoveling home the rebound of Tomas Fleischmann's shot before Campbell made it 2-0 with one second left on the power play. The blue-liner took a cross-ice feed from Scottie Upshall and had all day to line up his top-shelf wrister from the left faceoff circle.

Corvo got Ottawa on the board 2 1/2 minutes later with a floater from the right point that Thomas did not appear to see until it went past his right ear, and Condra buried a quick pass from captain Jason Spezza with 1:15 left in the period. Ottawa went ahead at 19:17 of the middle session, when another shot by Corvo from the right point deflected off Greening and looped over Thomas, and Ryan added insurance with a redirection with just over eight minutes left.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The Panthers scored twice on the power play for only the second time this season and first since connecting twice against Pittsburgh on Oct. 11. ... Ottawa, which went 1-for-7 with the man advantage, has surrendered 15 goals in the last 11 games while short-handed. ... Ryan scored for the fifth time in seven games, giving him 14 goals on the season.
