Drew Brees tossed two touchdowns and the visiting New Orleans Saints held the Carolina Panthers to 195 total yards in a 34-3 victory on Sunday.

Brees completed 27 of 43 passes for 253 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. He threw touchdowns passes to a pair of tight ends, hitting Jeremy Shockey for a 7-yard score and hooking up with Jimmy Graham for a 19-yard touchdown.

Carolina's struggling offense had its worst day of an already rough season.

Quarterback Matt Moore left with a shoulder injury in the first half, and backup Jimmy Clausen was benched for fellow rookie Tony Pike in the second half. Clausen was 8 for 18 for 47 yards with two sacks and an interception.

Jabari Greer returned the interception 24 yards for a touchdown.

The Panthers (1-7) were already without leading rusher DeAngelo Williams, who sat out with a foot injury for the second straight game, and they lost Jonathan Stewart to a head injury during the game. In Stewart's absence, Tyrell Sutton led the Panthers with 41 yards on seven carries, but he injured his ankle in the second half.

Lance Moore caught six passes for 77 yards for New Orleans (6-3). Julius Jones led the Saints with 68 yards on six carries, and Ladell Betts scored a 1-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Carolina took a 3-0 lead on John Kasay's 20-yard field goal, but the Saints scored 34 unanswered points.
