Peyton Manning threw for 255 yards and three touchdowns, easily getting the best of his younger brother as the Indianapolis Colts rolled to a 38-14 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday night.
The Colts (1-1) dominated all phases of the game, bolting to a 24-0 halftime lead in rebounding from last week's season-opening 34-24 loss at Texas.
Manning finished 20 of 26 and threw scoring passes of 50 yards to tight end Dallas Clark, 3 yards to Austin Collie and 10 yards to Reggie Wayne, who had seven receptions for 96 yards.
Indianapolis also got solid production from its running game, with Joseph Addai gaining 92 yards on 20 carries and Donald Brown picking up 69 yards and scoring a 7-yard touchdown.
Giants quarterback Eli Manning, falling to 0-2 against his older brother, wound up 13 of 24 for 161 yards with two touchdowns and one interception.
He tossed a 54-yard touchdown pass to Mario Manningham early in the third quarter to bring the Giants (1-1) within 24-7, but the momentum was short-lived.
On the next possession for New York (1-1), Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney forced a fumbled by Manning that was recovered for a touchdown by Fili Moala and gave the Colts a 31-7 lead with 6:27 to play in the third quarter.
Giants running back Brandon Jacobs lost his helmet in the stands when he apparently went to throw it in frustration and and it slipped out of his grip. Security personnel had to get it back from a fan.
