Stanford 82, Oregon State 72: Josh Huestis had 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Cardinal scored 48 points in the second half and defeated the host Beavers.

Aaron Bright hit a 3-pointer to put Stanford (16-11, 7-7 Pac-12) ahead 63-56 with 8:37 to play and the Cardinal maintained their lead despite the efforts of Roberto Nelson, who scored 13 of Oregon State’s final 18 points and finished with 28 points overall.

Joe Burton added 16 points for the Beavers (13-14, 3-11), who made two of their 15 shots from 3-point range and lost for the sixth time in the last eight games. Eric Moreland recorded his 10th double-double this season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

Nelson scored to cut the Cardinal lead to 73-69 with 2:46 to play, but Bright answered with a 3-pointer that moved Stanford ahead by seven with 1:50 remaining. Chasson Randle and Andy Brown had 13 points apiece and Bright chipped in 12 points in a game-high 39 minutes.

Stanford held a 27-13 rebounding edge in the second half after being outrebounded by 11 at the half. Dwight Powell had 11 boards along with 14 points for Stanford, which has won four straight against the Beavers.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Stanford, which trailed 35-34 at halftime, won for the second time in nine games when trailing at the half. … After not attempting a free throw in the first half, Stanford was 14-of-21 from the line after the break. … Oregon State fell to 8-2 this season when Moreland records a double-double.
