No. 21 Georgetown 89, Longwood 53: Sophomore forward Otto Porter scored 22 points, added seven assists and shook off a hit to the lead as the host Hoyas cruised past the Lancers.
Junior guard Markel Starks finished with 17 points while Greg Whittington chipped in eight points. A trio of bench players, Jabril Trawick, Stephen Domingo and D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera combined to add 19.
Sophomore forward Jeylani Dublin and freshman forward Michael Kessens combined to score 21 to lead Longwood. Junior guard Tristan Carey added nine.
By halftime, Georgetown (8-1) had jumped out to a 40-24 lead. Longwood couldn't put together a run of any kind in the second half as the Hoyas finished the game two points shy of their biggest lead.
Longwood (2-7) turned the ball over 30 times and only forced nine Georgetown turnovers. The Lancers managed to outrebound the Hoyas 30-22.
