J.P. Primm scored 22 points, including the final five of the game - all free throws - to lead UNC Asheville to an 81-77 overtime victory over Arkansas-Little Rock in the first round of the NCAA tournament in Dayton on Tuesday.
Matt Dickey also had 22 points for Asheville, including a 3-pointer with 10.5 seconds left that tied it at 72 and sent the game into overtime.
The Bulldogs (20-13), who trailed by as many as 11 points, will meet No. 1 seed Pittsburgh on Thursday in Washington, D.C.
Alex Garcia-Mendoza scored 21 points for the Trojans (19-17), who were making their first NCAA appearance in 21 years. Solomon Bozeman, the Sun Belt Conference Player of the Year, scored 18 points before fouling out in the final minute of regulation.
There were five lead changes in the extra session, the last when Primm hit a pair of free throws with 1:16 left to give Asheville a 78-77 lead.
Arkansas-Little Rock went more than nine minutes without a field goal, a drought that lasted into overtime.
