Cade Davis scored 24 points to lead four Oklahoma players in double figures, and the Sooners added another chapter to Baylor's disappointing season with a 84-67 victory Wednesday in the first round of the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City, Mo.
The Sooners broke it open with a 26-5 run in the first half as Baylor (18-13, 7-9 Big 12) made only two field goals in the last 10 minutes of the half. The Bears finished 9 for 27, including 1 for 7 from 3-point range, in the half.
Carl Blair had 16 points and 11 assists, and Cameron Clark and Steven Pledger added 10 points apiece for Oklahoma (14-17, 5-11 Big 12), which will face No. 2 seed Texas on Thursday in the quarterfinals.
Quincy Acy led the Bears with 21 points and 15 rebounds, and Anthony Jones added 13 points. Baylor's LaceDarius Dunn, the Big 12's all-time leading scorer, had 11 points on 3-of-14 shooting.
Baylor played without freshman Perry Jones, who was declared ineligible by the NCAA on Wednesday in connection with an investigation into whether Jones or his family received improper benefits from an AAU coach before enrolling at Baylor. The 6-foot-11 forward averages 13.9 points and 7.2 rebounds.
